Integration of Emergy Analysis with Building Information Modeling

Traditional energy analysis in Building Information Modeling (BIM) only accounts for the requirements of building operations during a portion occupancy phase building’s life cycle and as such is unable to quantify true impact buildings on environment. Specifically, typical BIM does not account associated with resource formation, recycling, demolition. Therefore, comprehensive method required analyze environmental buildings. Emergy can offer holistic approach cost activities involved construction operation all its phases from formation As such, integration emergy result development sustainability performance tool. this study aimed at developing framework existing tools. The proposed was validated using case involving test element 8’ × composite wall. demonstrated successful Revit®2021 inbuilt features Revit external tools MS Excel. developed will help accurately determining buildings, which selecting environment-friendly materials systems. In addition, into allow comparison various built environment alternatives enabling designers make sustainable decisions design phase.
